intro
Marie Hazelwood photographs Glasgow indie/dance rock group Franz Ferdinand at a gig at the Albert Hall in Manchester, the first in a series of UK dates to promote their new album, 'Always Ascending'.
Glasgow indie/dance rock group Franz Ferdinand first came to notoriety in 2004 with their second single 'Take Me Out' which reached no. 3 in the UK charts. Since then they have released another seven Top 20 singles including 'The Dark Side of the Matinee' and 'Do You Want to?' as well as had six bestselling albums including the no. 1 2005 LP 'You Could Have It So Much Better' and 2015 record 'FFS', a collaborative release with Sparks. These photographs of their front man Alex Kapranos were taken at the Albert Hall in Manchester by Marie Hazelwood on the 13th February on the first date of a twelve-date UK tour to promote their fifth album under their own name, 'Always Ascending', which came out in February.
