One of the leading bands of the Britpop era, Sleeper had various chart hits including the Top 10 numbers 'Sale of the Century' and 'Nice Guy Eddie', and also released three bestselling albums, 'Smart' (1995), 'The It Girl' (1996) and 'Pleased to Meet You' (1997). Since reforming after a nineteen year hiatus in 2017, they have put out a further two albums, 'The Modern Age' (2019) and 'This Time Tomorrow' (2020), and been a popular live act.. They were one of the first acts to return to live work after lockdown, and these photos taken on the 13th August by Andrew Twambley at the Manchester Ritz show frontwoman Louise Wener's enthusiasm and ecstasy at being back on stage.
