intro
Charming latest single from Idlewild, who are rapidly becoming the Scottish answer to R.E.M.
There are two versions of ‘El Capitan’ on this latest single from Idlewild, one of which is electric and the other of which is acoustic. This track is somewhat charming, and it endorses the fact that Idlewild are becoming the Scottish answer to R.E.M. ‘Winter is Blue’, the B side, is a duet between Roddy Woomble and Jenny Reeve, the front woman with new Scottish acoustic trio Reeve, and sounds like a 60’s cover of a folk standard. The black 7 inch vinyl has an acoustic version of ‘The Bronze Medal’ which is again beautifully played and is classic as anything by this fine band.
