Raveonettes - Whip It On
by Anthony Strutt
published: 14 / 2 / 2003
intro
After profiling the original version of the Raveonettes 'Whip it On' last month which came out on Crunchy Frog , Anthony Strutt now looks at the new version of the album which has been released on Columbia, and concludes that it is even better
Have I mentioned how great this record and band are. ?????????????????? Well, yes, this had been reviewed elsewhere, but I have to say the new Columbia version is a lot better than the original Crunchy Frog version. In addition to the album, you get the uncut ‘Attack of the Ghost Riders’ video. ‘Attack of the Ghost Riders’, the first track on this, does sound muddy compared to the Crunchy Frog release. From here on though, it’s been cleaned up. It sounds fresher and clearer. You can make out every word, which you couldn’t do on the original. The feedback sounds as fresh as a morning robin. You have to get this.
