intro
Melanie Smith photographs glamorous American sister act the Pierces at a show at the Academy in Manchester
Glamorous American sister act The Pierces complete with full band packed out the intimate confines of the Club Academy in Manchester. Spreading their contagious summery tunes of love, they were a massive hit with the crowd, who varied in ages, but the majority were mainly over 25. They not only look beautiful, but are talented singer/songwriter/musicians, and have a great line in gig banter between songs. It was a general feel good affair. Apart from their older hits, they played some tracks from the new album 'Creation' to be released in September - from what I heard we are in for a treat. Mine is pre-ordered already. They were only doing a select handful of gigs this June, so Manchester were one of the lucky ones. Set List: Elements Love You More Creation Monsters It Will Not Be Forgotten Believe in Me We are Stars I Put Your Records On Honest Man Come Alive I Can Feel Kings Devil is a Lonely Night You'll Be Mine Encore: Kathy's Song Flesh Bone Glorious Photos/words by Melanie Smith at www.mudkissphotography.co.uk.
