Fairport's Cropredy Convention - Profile

The full line-up has now been announced for this year's Fairport's Cropredy Convention, Thursday 10 - Saturday 12 August at Cropredy, near Banbury, Oxfordshire. Alongside Fairport Convention themselves, top of the bill will be Nile Rodgers, one of the most accomplished songwriters, producers and artists of the past half-century. He will perform with his band, Chic. Others in the line-up include 10CC, Toyah and husband Robert Fripp, Kiki Dee and Carmelo Luggeri, Gilbert O'Sullivan plus the final ever UK performance by The Strawbs. As always, the festival will culminate with a three-hour set from hosts Fairport Convention. Fairport founder-member and festival co-organiser Simon Nicol commented, “I am almost sinfully proud of this year's Cropredy bill. Every one of the acts is at the top of their game. Cropredy is already the nation's friendliest festival and this year's mega-weekend may be our best one ever!”
