intro
Eloquent 7" debut release from young acoustic/electronica based artist Robert Edwards who works under the moniker of the Library Trust, and which has been released on the Static Caravan label
A myriad of musicians and 'outfits' these days record a digital mish mash of acoustic, vocal and computer performances. The Library Trust delivers the eloquent tranquility you would expect - bearing in mind a name such as theirs - yet a fair dose of teenage angst wee also went into 'Build Your Own Snowglobe'. Since this is the debut of Robert Edwards from last year's Under 19's, it can all but be forgiven though. His pure voice makes 'Build Your Own Snowglobe' the friendly listen one needs at times. Moreover young Robert does have a talent for melody. 'Beyond Blue' closes off this intimate session with a tension that makes you curious for more. Cabman, catch that caravan! Nothing else as motivating starts with 'c' and 'a' anyhow. For all of the publishers that sold out to new wave retro bargains, after Domino, Warp and Tomlab, it's either Leicester's Pickled Egg or Birmingham's Static Caravan who win my competition. 'Build Your Own Snowglobe' does just about what it claims. This 'Build Your Own Snowglobe' EP is only a debut; please act appropriately nice.
