intro
Boundary-breaking and totally infectious second single from Australian band, Cloud Control
It may only be April, but it wouldn’t be a bit surprising if this, the second single from Australian band Cloud Control, was the song of the summer. Awash with Fleet Foxes-esque harmonies, lead singer Alister Wright’s vocals ring with a tenor not unlike that of David Byrne, and a Talking Heads influence can certainly be felt in the band’s boundary-breaking music too. Jangly guitars joust with a rhythmic drum beat, creating an infectiously upbeat tune that will have your toes tapping; while the chorus is just about the catchiest you’re likely to have come across this side of 2011. The indie scene may be oversaturated at best, but this track signals Cloud Control as a bright new star on the circuit. There may be nothing in the water they can’t fight, yet one suspects they’ll be fighting off hoards of adoring fans in no time at all.
