intro
Enjoyable new 9 track EP from Erasure, consisting mainly of remixes, released to coincide with their latest British tour
Released to cash in on their current UK tour, 'Storm Chaser', Erasure's new 9 song EP, consists mostly of alternative remixes of tracks from their recent album, 'Light at the End of the World'. 2 tracks of this EP, 'Storm in a Teacup' and 'Sucker for Love', have been released as well on a pricey 7 inch picture disc vinyl. 'Storm in a Teacup (Radio Mix)', is classy Erasure, showing off the supreme pop sound that they have delivered for the last 20 years or so and been crowned for. It is solid great pop music. 'Sucker for Love (Extended Mix)' is a dance based remix, full of samples, and very much a disco number. 'Golden Heart (Ern's Golden Glow Radio Edit)'is a big-sounding, dance based song, while 'Early Bird', which sounds a little like Prince's 'Kiss', is sung a duet between Andy Bell and guest vocalist Cyndi Lauper. Both their voices match each other perfectly and it is a marriage made in heaven. 'Storm in a Teacup (Koishi and Hush Club Mix)' is an out-of-your-head club dance mix that goes on for what seems like forever. 'Sucker for Love (DJ Manolo Remix)' is, as you would expect, a club based mix. It has an echoing sound, but Andy's vocal hasn't been tampered about too much with. 'Storm in a Teacup (Extended Mix)' is another long version of this song, but this time with a different style ending. 'When a Lover Leaves You (Oscar Salguero Remix)' is a disco flavoured beat number with a big 1980's feel and 'Glass Angel (The Equilateral Mix)' is a laid back chill-out track.
