intro
Debut single from Damon Albarn's latest project the Good, the Bad and the Queen, which in an all-star line-up also features Paul Simonon from the Clash
The Good, the Bad and Queen is yet another new project for the ever prolific Damon Albarn of Blur and Gorillaz fame. In an all star line-up, he is backed by Nigerian-born drummer Tony Allen who has worked with Fela Kuti and Roy Ayres ; Simon Tong from the Verve on guitar and Paul Simonon from the Clash on bass and backing vocals. 'Herculean'. their debut single, is being released on October 30th on very limited 7 inch and CDS and then deleted on the same day. Produced by Dangermouse, it is a laid back affair, more of a groove and a feeling than a song, a refreshing idea that still sounds like Damon Albarn without being either Blur or Gorillaz, and which also has a pleasant-on-the-ear choir backing it. The band's debut gig at the London Roundhouse on October 26th has sold out instantly.
