Hello and welcome to the September edition of the Pennyblackmusic magazine. It is never easy putting together a magazine such as this one, and, to be honest, I wouldn’t want it to ever be. Much of the reason for doing this is because it is a challenge, and it, therefore, continues to be rewarding and fulfilling when we do get a new edition online. These magazines, however, don’t get any less complicated. Part of that is because I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s a few years ago, and, while thankfully it continues to be manageable, it does slow me down. Part of that too is that both I and our webmaster and my co-pilot Richard Banks are both nearer 60 than 50 now, and, while our enthusiasm for Pennyblack remains high, we don’t have quite the same energy or stamina as we did when we started out with it as still relatively young men almost twenty-five years ago. Part of it as well is that the magazines don’t get any smaller. With this magazine the wheels well and truly came off the bus due to a succession of health and family problems, and we are much later than planned in getting it online. We do apologise for this. It is an edition that we are proud of, and we do hope that it has been worth the wait. As always, this magazine, however, has been brought together through the talents and enthusiasm of many people. Thank you to Kimberly Bright, Nicky Crewe, Julie Cruickshank, Nick Dent-Robinson, Dixie Ernill, Dave Goodwin, Zena Greig, Tommy Gunnarsson, Robert Hadley, Adrian Janes, Richard Lewis, Eoghan Lyng, Steve Miles, Nige Nudds, Shirley Procter, Lisa Torem, Andrew Twambley, Cila Warncke and Amanda J. Window, all of whom contributed to this edition. Special thanks to Richard, without whom none of this would be possible. Please check out our regular Facebook and Twitter updates. We are going to put on hold for this month only our mid-month mini update and will be back in early October with what shall be our 25th Anniversary edition. Thank you as always for reading Pennyblackmusic, John Clarkson Magazine Editor www.pennyblackmusic.co.uk
