Our Website of the Month is the website for CALM, the Campaign Against Living Miserably http://www,calmzone.net, a charity which exists to prevent male suicide in the UK. Recent statistics have revealed that 78% of suicides are male, and it is the single biggest cause of death in men aged 20 – 45 in the UK. CALM aims to offer support to men in the UK, of any age, who are down or in crisis via their helpline and website, and it challenges a culture that prevents men seeking help when they need it. These statistics have included many talented musicians, and include Ian Curtis from Joy Division, Kurt Cobain, Adrian Borland from The Sound, Pete Ham and Tom Evans from Badfinger and this year Keith Flint from The Prodigy. We feel that it is an important cause, and one that deserves a lot of support.
