intro
Fantastic indie rock on new vinyl only album from Bristol-based group, Palomica
Sense the disorientation; by far the greatest virtue of 'Petito' is that it knows nowhere to stop. As if has kicked its own head down the bucket, it dwells in subdued, mumbled and inarticulate rhymes and rhythms. Invigorating the heyday of the Creation label, it seems at any moment that Daniel Treacy might crop up on 'Petito'. Moving well beyond Americana, it is drizzly like Big Star, yet at the same time not quite an Alex Chilton bunch of compositions in despair. Palomica find a sense of comfort in their tingle-tangle piano extravaganza workouts. Despite their remarkable similarities to artefacts buried in an unregistered past, Palomica embrace the new and unknown with a sense of vigour, and, although in accordance with their rocking past, have managed to create an album of almost godlike proportions.
