intro
Imaginative noise rock on new album from experimental Italian three-piece, Inutili
Italy's sonic monster trio Inutili take off to a new level. While they draw comparisons with Suicide, Sonic Youth, the Jesus and Mary Chain and the Gun Club, these references are an injustice to Inutili's originality. So far in 2016 Inutili count as my favourite band by far; the finest of structured noise darlings in this year's music. The album's melted, dozy resonances combine with dribbling bluesy licks, long lost chords and smashing mayhem. Thunder and lightning, twang, menace; the new Inutili LP has almost got it all. Vigour comes in several degrees on this latest offering from the mighty Aagoo label. On the CD version there is a wealth of six exclusive bonus tracks. Stupendous is the first word that springs to mind. Stupifying is my next description of Inutili's Wall of Sound. Astounding, I would also use to describe my initial experience of them as 'Minus-Log' rounds off the CD album with a bedlamic electronic lullaby.
