Marie Hazelwood takes photographs of young Manchester band Blossoms at a show at the O2 Academty in Liverpool
Blossoms are a young group from Stockport in Greater Manchester. First formed last year, Blossoms, which consists of Tom Ogden (vocals, guitar), Charlie Salt (bass, backing vocals), Josh Dewhurst (guitar), Joe Donovan (drums) and Myles Kellock (keyboards, backing vocals), have already bagged impressive support slots with acts such as the Howling Bells and the Rifles, and have earned much acclaim for their psychedelic-pop riffs, vocal melodies and dramatic stage performances. The band’s sense of mysticism and inventive keyboard arrangements have also drawn them regular comparisons with the Doors. The band will be playing its first headline in tour in October, and will also be releasing their debut single that month, ‘Blow’, on the Coral’s James Skelly’s Skeleton Key Records. These photographs were taken by Marie Hazelwood for Pennyblackmusic at a gig supporting the Courteeners at the O2 Academy in Liverpool on the 18th August.
