intro
Unremarkable and dull second album from young Derby-based folk/pop artist, Lucy Ward
A local folk hero perhaps, Lucy Ward forces her way through the entire length of this album which contains elements of new age, folk pop and, to be honest, la-di-da drivel. Often dull to say the very least, 'Single Flame' focuses on the worries of a mentally ill 17-year old, who has lost track of her way home. The music is firmly stuck in tradition which aids Lucy Ward a lot as she clearly has no original ideas. Miming to the Sundays, Lucy Ward mistakenly assumes she's onto something. A sleeping pill, ' Single Frame' is about as deep as the average text message. Moaning about social reform, meaning to stand up, 'Single Flame' features very weak political sloganeering. It is only distinguishable by its blandness.
