intro
In his 'Evidently Spencertown' poetry column, Spencer Robertshaw looks at the influence of poets past and present on society
Poets here Poets there Poets every fucking where Poets fucking everywhere Poets in the chip shop Poets in the pub Poets in every corner They’ve even got a club Poets telling tales in oh so many ways Poets get all moody and darken their own days Poets get all soppy and ruin a good shag Poets go to evenings with papers in a bag Poets are all sensitive, they go hugging trees Poets all recycle, putting patches on their knees Poets have emotions that mere mortals dare not touch Poets do all nice things and say thank you very much Poets make home brew and drink it by the jug Poets like cups of tea and drink it from a mug Poets write poetry in all so many ways Poets have to have something to fill their poetic days!
