intro
Our Website of the Month is Swede Mason, which matches reworked vintage TV and cinema footage with side-splitting songs
Just what did we do before the internet existed, eh? More to the point, what did we do before we had Facebook, Twitter or Google+? I know they are called social networking sites and sold to us as if their purpose is to help us connect with friends and family past and present, inform the word of every thought that pops through your head and drops out of your ear, and to post links to the articles you get published in a certain extremely important music magazine. And all that stuff is all very useful but what these websites are really for is sharing the viral videos and pictures that makes us laugh and drive the unappreciative round the bend. I am leaving the cheeseburger obsessed lolcats for another time. This month I bring you http://swedemason.com/ No, no you don't need to thank me. You just need to go click the link and spend some time laughing at the tracks made from TV or film clips mashed up and spat out in amusing formations. After you have watched the videos and laughed at some vintage 'Neighbours' action, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Madeley or Mel Gibson, or giggled inanely at one of best bits of 'Withnail and I'stretched into 3+ minutes, you can also download the songs that appear along with them. Sadly one of the best SwedeMason pieces is missing from the website, but is available on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfeyUGZt8nk. But, beware! Masterchef Synesthesia will get stuck in your head for days. That's it, a very simple and straight foreword site, with one clear objective and no flannel. The songs are a little silly maybe but strangely satisfying. So off you go to spam everyone you know. It is what the internet was created for....
