intro

Unmelodic and flawed debut album from London-based female three-piece, Rayographs

The most peculiar thing about Rayographs is that I thought them to be wagonjumping Liverpool's Clinic. Clinic proved to be a band not to cling to when in search of commercial success. Why bother to go down down that path? I turned into a state of shock when the singer with Rayographs, awful name for a band by the way, turned out, as is all of the group, to be a girl, Astrud Steehouder, rather than an overexcited boy like Clinic has in Ade Blackburn. The appearance of Rayographs may be dreadful, but they do know how to surprise. Rayographs bunny hops through indie tubbieland, indifferent of any demand for melody or composition. Only on '3 Times' Rayographs come to the point when the age old beauty of Paula Frazer of Tarnation is brought to mind, yet their rushed country rock trash soon spoils it all. This debut is confusion all the way. Rayographs clearly aren't capable of handling a set of more than 3 or 4 songs.
