intro

Forceful 1970's-influenced country rock from Sydney-based band, the Snowdroppers

Back in the 1970s we had swamp rock and country rock, and the Snowdroppers pay tribute to both and the likes of Tony Joe White and Canned Heat with this new EP. 'Do The Stomp' is a zany, pumping stormer which comes complete with handclaps, an anthem like chorus, mouth harmonica and marching drums. On the back sleeve the Snowdroppers pose like the Byrds in front of a shed. Two of this foursome have the type of beards that went out of fashion just before pub rock and glitter rock. Providing something completely else comes the club mix which on the one side emphasizes the simplicity of 'Do The Stomp', and on the other adds a whole new perspective. The breezy club house production is like the counterpart to chemical beats> Welcome the Snowdroppers as the new Booze Brothers. It's a fancy brew of the old and the new, done without any pretention other than to entertain. "I been working hard" is the chorus and, yes, you deserved this break. Can you pour me another one, please?
