intro

Pleasant, but overplayed drone rock on debut album from Norwich trio, Transept

The Norwich trio Transept plays long songs of a dreamy and drugged drone variety. They're Phil, Alex and Liam and together they cover a good deal of all music instruments played on the globe. With competence, Transept juggle up a bit of kraut and space rock, test out simple symphonies and on a few tracks start off playing nursery rhymes on toy instruments. Once these develop into entire tracks, you will, however, notice a lack of exceptional composition though. Yet, Transept actually do aim for a cinematic appeal and, alas ,come to a point. Enthousiastic musicians with plenty of time on their hands, Transept prefers sound to imagery. On 'Nothing, The Noth, Pt. 1' I was reminded though of the score to the film 'Eraserhead'. As a reference however, not as a comparison. What the heck, this is Transept's first offering to the world and it has been a pleasant if only a long ride.
