Instantly appealing and breezy-sounding electro dubstep on new EP from Channel Islands quartet, Schema

Dubstep from the Channel Islands and that's no joke. Electro dubstep to be exact, this quartet produces a breezy-sounding blend of breaks and dubs. 'Le Broqout' presents some of the finest farting in computer sound of today. And I can't help being reminded of the keyboard licks of Manfred Mann and Be-Bop Deluxe here. That is meant as a compliment of course, as 'Le Broqout' tantalizes the ear just as well as the hips. 'Turn Off the Lights' is the sole sexy tune from the EP. Saving the heaviest artillery for the last, there is 'Savage Henry' - a referral to Henry III perhaps. Its brutally sneering synth drums work over a drifting reggae dub track. Schema has an ease for playing instantly appealing music. Think early Pendulum. Let's keep fingers crossed they won't turn into an another Venga Boys.
