intro

Intriguing and danceable first European release from Butane, the electronic project of Andrew Rasse, a now Berlin-based American

As a Mid-West American ex-pat now living in Berlin, Andrew Rasse has made his pilgrimage to the birthplace of 'basic channel' electronica. On London's Crosstown Rebels Records, however, comes Butane's first European release 'Endless Forms' with a quote from Darwin to go along with the grand exhibition held in London, as if these are connected. An extensive press release accompanies the release but let's forget about all that and let's dance. The 'Endless Forms' offer soulful, fat and pounding micro-house tracks. Sober and minimal by structure, and rich in production this album takes you for a smooth ride. Deep sonic rhythms come garnished with exquisite arrangements of quirky, funky bleeps and blobs. 'Endless Forms' may not be antagonisingly groundbreaking, yet the album is pleasently disturbing and effectively danceable all the way. Allow Butane into yours and life will be a gas.
