intro
Fabulously rich pastiche of eurodisco ditties and off-kilter top-40 music on first album in six years from American electronic artist and humorist, Max Tundra
A visual artist as well, Max Tundra does not feel any pressure to write and record music to coincide with marketing plans. The full six years' wait proved worth it. Funny, odd and quirky pop music that could be popular if only our radio was not numbed by marketing idiots. There's a wealth of irony and if that fails to cheer you up, this rich pastiche of eurodisco ditties and off-kilter top-40 music will. Humour is one of the toughest disciplines in art and Max Tundra has mastered one more fabulous effort. Find childish pleasure and a mind wandering experience at the very same time, for the price of one! 'Parallax Error Beheads You' can't be compared but sounds like a re-hash of cut-up bits from 1980's disco wave popsters The Thompson Twins. It is unadulterated and clever music though. Artful but unpretentious fun, brought in a comprehensive sequence that ends with the ten minute final 'Until We Die'. Not by decapitation of course, since the album title hints at no fatality but at a mere shake of the head. This one certainly gets the nod. One of this year's best albums.

Strong new single from the ever experimental and distinctive Max Tundra, which does not appear to be especially clever at first but which only turns out to be after repeated plays. |
