intro
Reverent and thoughtful largely instrumental fourth album from July Skies, the project of Antony Harding, which with evocative tenderness displays a deep longing for the past
Antony Harding and July Skies are back with another album of shimmery guitars whose notes float and ebb delicately to places lost in time and space. A piano comes to life in an abandoned school's band room. Softly echoing down the hallway and into the courtyard. Leaves stirred by a gentle breeze, yet somehow at rest. Frozen moments warm and familiar, belonging to others. Like looking through a photo album of an unknown life decades past. July Skies manage to give sounds to images silently left behind. The tone quiet, reverent, careful to not disturb the setting. Listen. See.
