City and Colour is the solo side project of Dallas Green, the singer and guitarist with St Catherines, Ontario-based post-hardcore outfit, Alexisonfire. Alexisonfire, who have released three albums, 'Alexisonfire' (2002), 'Watch Out !'(2004) and 'Crisis (2006) , have become known for their turbulent and explosive dynamics and often piercing vocals, City and Colour, which maintains the powerful melodies of Green's main band, is, however, a stripped down acoustic project with an alternative folk sound which puts a strong emphasis on Green's introspective and downbeat lyrics, Its debut album 'Sometimes' has just been released. Green recently made a short tour of Britain as City and Colour to promote 'Sometimes'. These photographs of City and Colour were taken exclusively for Pennyblackmusic by Anna Gudaniec on the 25th May at the Camden Barfly in London.
