intro
Superb second album from Texan singer-songwriter Jess Klein, who "comes across like a sleazy cross between Frank Sinatra, Dashboard Confessional and Dylan in his early years"
Aha!! This man would be Robbie Williams if he was a smokey lounge singer. He has the looks, the voice and the songs, and comes across like a sleazy cross between Frank Sinatra, Dashboard Confessionalsand Dylan in his early years. It's great. It has ups, it has downs, it has moments of intense sorrow and crescendos of joy that make this album one of those precious commodities that when played reminds you of moments in your life that you wish you had had. The track 'Ironside' does this for me. It makes me feel like I am in the rain in tears pouring my heart out to the girl of my dreams before she leaves town forever, I have never had this moment but the song makes me feel that instantly.I dare you all to listen to this album and not find a track that does this for you. To sum up, this CD is one of a select few that has made its way into my car on a long term basis, a privilege held for a select few. It is a seriously good album from a seriously good singer. Check it out !.

The Hustler (2006) |
Rich and atmospheric-sounding new album from acclaimed singer-songwriter Jeff Klein, which comes as a deliberate contrast to his sparse last album 'Everybody Loves a Winner' |
