intro
....while in our second film review of the month, he examines French director Claire Denis's oddball arthouse horror curiosity 'Trouble Every Day', which has been scored by Tindersticks
'Trouble Every Day' is the second movie to be scored by Tindersticks for French director, Claire Denis. If follows on from their score for the 1996, 'Nenette et Boni', which was a tale of brother and sister love. 'Trouble Every Day' opened at the Other Cinema in London on Boxing Day, and has selected screenings at arthouse cinemas like the Prince Charles, where it was originally screened in August '99 as part of the Frightfest horror festival. 'Trouble Every Day' was at the time part of Tindersticks' live set. The movie is partly in French and partly in English, and is a weird tale about two characters affected by a blood disease that turns them into blood drinking zombies. This, being, however, French and arthouse, it is not your standard horror flick, and it twists and turns all over the place. The score fits in well with it. It is again not a date movie, but more of an oddity, and really only for hardcore Tindersticks fans. The soundtrack, which was released in 2001, is still available through Beggars Banquet.
