Manchester’s I Am Kloot return with their second single, which shows just as much promise as their start of the millennium debut ‘Titanic’. I Am Kloot are not just any old indie band as their moniker may suggest. The grandly named John Harold Arnold Bramwell who has co-written both singles fronts them, and then there are the lyrics. He sings a naggingly catchy chorus of “I love you, there’s chocolate on your legs” on ‘Twist’ which comes across as a Beta Band/ La’s collision. The production certainly reminds me of those classic La’s tracks. ’86 TV’s’ isn’t bad too. There are no throwaway B-sides with this band. I’m told you have to see this band live which is something I’ve regretted not doing so far. They are definitely one of the better new bands on the scene at the moment. The single itself may now be difficult to track down seeing as both formats are limited. The 7” is especially desirable as it comes on red vinyl in a brown paper bag, as did the first single. Hunt this down NOW!
