Hello and welcome to the February 2023 edition of the Pennyblackmusic Magazine. For the last two years in her ‘A Life in Music’ column Cila Warncke has talked to several of our writers and photographers about how music has affected and influenced them. We were interested in finding out in ‘A Life in Music’ what ignited a bunch of obsessives’ passion for music, and discovered that much of our team had lead lives that were just as fascinating as many of the bands. Now that column is coming to an end, and in the last in the series we have turned the tables on Cila and Nick Dent-Robinson has spoken to her about her ‘Life in Music’. As one series finishes, another one starts… In the first in our new series ‘Discography Hagiography’, in which we will be providing a disc-by-disc evolution of music’s greats, Mark Rowland begins by reflecting upon the 1960’s and 1970’s career of David Bowie. As always, this magazine, however, has been brought together through the talents and enthusiasm of many people. Thank you to Cila, Nick and Mark. Thank you to Kimberly Bright, Steev Burgess,, Anthony Dhanendran, James Gardner, Dave Goodwin, Tommy Gunnarsson, Robert Hadley, Fiona Hutchings, Adrian Janes, Paul Kimber, Richard Lewis, Helen Tipping, Lisa Torem, Andrew Twambley, Cila Warncke and Denzil Watson., all of whom contributed to this edition. Special thanks to our webmaster Richard Banks, without whom none of this would be possible. Please check out our regular Facebook and Twitter updates. We will be back in early February with another full edition, Thank you as always for reading Pennyblackmusic, John Clarkson Magazine Editor www.pennyblackmusic.co.uk
