intro
Andrew Twambley photographs the Kaiser Chiefs at Mountford Hall at Liverpool University on their latest tour.
Best known for their Top 10 hits 'Oh My God', 'I Predict a Riot' and 'Never Miss a Beat' and their no. 1 single 'Ruby', the Kaiser Chiefs have recorded six albums since forming in Leeds in 2000. They have a reputation for fiery live performances and they spent late May and early June touring the UK to promote 'Duck', their forthcoming seventh album which is due to be released on the 26th July. Andrew Twambley photographed them at Mountford Hall at Liverpool University on the 4th June for Pennyblackmusic, but faced challenging circumstances. "Official photographers were assigned a spot way at the right of the stage where had to stand and not move from," he says. "So there were no angles and we could only see two of them, but it was still a great night." The photographs of lead singer Ricky Wilson and guitarist and backing vocalist Andrew White capture much of the Kaiser Chiefs' dynamic stage presence. With strong support from rising new band Novacub, this turned out against the odds to be an excellent evening. Photos by Andrew Twambley www.twambley.com
