Darren Aston photographs Matthew Shultz, the front man with American rock band Cage the Elephant during a recent UK tour at a gig at the O2 Academy in Liverpool

Cage the Elephant is an American rock band from Bowling Green, Kentucky, The group has recorded music in a variety of styles that has embraced a range of influences including classic rock, funk, blues music, psychedelia, garage rock and 90's alternative music. They have relased four albums to date, 'Cage the Elephant' (2008), 'Thank You, Happy Birthday' (2011), Melophobia' (2013) and 'Tell Me I'm Pretty'. The last of these, which came out in December, was produced by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys. These photographs of front man and guitarist Matthew Shultz were taken by Darren Aston during a recent UK tour at a gig at the O2 Academy in Liverpool.
