intro
Excellent new Cure single, their first new material since their self-titled album from 2004 and which be followed by several other singles each which will be released on the 13th of each month
'The Only One (Mix 13)'is the first new material since from the Cure since their self-titled album from 2004. This single was released on the 13th of May, and will followed be other singles released on the thirteenth of each month in June, July, August and September, when the Cure's new album will be released. 'The Only One (Mix 13)' is light, fluffy pop filled the Cure, and sounds like a combination between 'The 13th' from every other Cure fan's most hated album, 1996's 'Wild Mood Swings' (which I actually liked) and 'Wish', their album from 1992. It easily gets under your skin, if you love this band as much I do. It's B Side, 'NY Trip', is more obscure in sound, but equally strong. It features lots of wah wah guitar from old time Cure Member, Porl Thompson, who is now back in the band, after recording and touring with Robert Plant after leaving the Cure last time around. This is daydreaming the Cure, totally goregeous, and makes the new album something very much to look forward too.
