Label: Mute Records
Format: CDS

intro

Hypnotic debut single on Mute from Maps, whose three previous releases all came out on 10 inch vinyl only

'It Will Find You' is the debut release on Mute Records of Maps, the moniker of electronic experimentalist and musician James Chapman, and comes after three independent releases which were released on 10 inch single vinyl only. James' vocals on 'It Will Find You' are totally hypnotic. They sound like he is singing in a trance like state, and the song is both very lush and warming. It has been released on both CDS and 10 inch vinyl. 'The Mock and Toof Remix' is the only exclusive track on the 10 inch and is an all out remix from which only James' breathing and a part of his vocals which are here extended remain. 'I Was Born Twice' is more indie dance based. James' keyboard sounds like a church organ, while his echoing vocals sound like Neil Halstead's when he was in Slowdive. 'We're Not in Kansas Anymore' is another trancey number.James' vocals are chanted, and, with its calming sound, it is a good chill out track.
