intro
Appealing indie pop on tenth album from Stockholm popsters Last Days Of April who reveal increasing maturity
Singer Karl Larsson's narrow voice sounds 'dangerously' similar to many Californian jangling bands. Opposed to these Californians he immediately shuts his cakehole once he's made his point and stops whining. Last Days Of April, a trio, spews out a sound similar to a real band. Not the most eloquent songwriter, Karl Larsson's words neither go amiss. The string strong arrangements are another great asset to 'Even The Good Days Are Bad'. It tells of those languishing strolls up north on Stockholm motorways. The melancholy envisioned by woods and forests percolates on 'Even The Good Days Are Bad' on a couple of quite pristine tracks. Occasionally echoing their counterparts from Finland, 22 Pistepirkko, I can't help feeling that out of ten rather good LPs, Last Days Of April might have produced four or five truly excellent albums, which leads to an advice coming at some cost. Buy these ten and then compile your fifty, sixty to seventy most precious songs from those.
