Darren Aston photographs 80's pop/rock band China Crisis at their annual Christmas show at the Cavern Club in their home city of Liverpool
Liverpool-based pop/rock band China Crisis are best known for their mid-1980's chart hits, 'Christian', 'Wishful Thinking' and 'Black Man Ray', and their Top 20 albums, 'Working with Fire and Steel - Possible Pop Songs Volume Two'(1983) and 'Flaunt the Imperfection' (1985). While there was a long gap of twenty-one years after their 1994 sixth album 'Warped in Success' in which they didn't release an album, they have remained a consistent live act and tour regularly and still has in its line-up founder members Gary Daly (vocals, synthesisers) and Eddie Lundon (guitars, vocals). China Crisis released its seventh album, 'Autumn in the Neighbourhood', in June of this year, having funded it through a PledgeMusic campaign. The group plays an annual gig at the Cavern Club in Liverpool every Christmas. These photographs of Daly and Lundon were taken at the Cavren Club on the 11th December by Darren Aston for Pennyblackmusic.
