intro
Strong but uninspired new vinyl only single from Cambridgeshire-based doom/stoner rock outfit, Uncle Acid and the deadbeats
The new Uncle Acid & The deadbeats single offers nothing new to the band's growing arsenal of fuzzed out retro rock but that doesn't mean any fan or intrigued newcomer will go away disappointed after hearing it. 'Runaway Girls' still captures that effortlessly blessed out 70's feel that the band's 2013 full length 'Mind Control' possessed, and the hooks are all present and correct which is pretty incredible considering the high calibre of last year's effort and yet as a fan I want more than the same. With every release, Uncle Acid has delivered an improvement on their previous instalment. For the fist time here they have seemed to level out... I await the next album with baited breath. I want better than this. I want ambition. I know they will deliver.
