Catherine Christofis photographs the ABC of Canadian Music, which featured Po' Girl's Awna Teixeira, former Twilight Hotel front woman Brandy Zdan and ex-Wailing Jennys' star Cara Luft, at the Old Queen's Head in London

The ABC of Canadian Music was a UK tour that featured three of Canada's best known and most revered singer-songwriters and folk/country musicians, Awna Teixeira from Po' Girl, former Twilight Hotel front woman Brandy Zdan and ex-Wailing Jennys' star Cara Luft. Taking a break from her regular band, Awna Teixeira released her debut solo album, 'Where the Darkness Goes', to great acclaim last year. After the dissolution of the twice-Juno award nominated Twilight Hotel, Brandy Zdan released her first solo release in five years, a six song EP 'Lone Hunter' earlier this year. Cara Luft's fourth solo album 'Darlingford', which features an all-star cast of guest musicians, came out again in 2012. The ABC of Canadian Muisc, which saw the trio performing together for the first time, saw them playing individual sets in the first half and then all three playing together after an interval. These photographs were taken for Pennyblackmusic by Catherine Christofis on the London date of the two week tour at the Old Queen's Head on the 15th October.
