Neil Bailey photographs Cardiff-based indie guitar rockers Future of the Left at a show at the Manchester Academy on their recent tour
Cardiff-based group Future of the Left consists of singer/guitarist Andy "Falco" Falkous, singer/bassist Kelson Mathias and also drummer Jack Egglestone. Falkous and Eggelstone were in the much acclaimed Mclusky, while Mathias was in Jarcrew, and Future of the Left formed in 2005 when both these bands split within two months of each other. They have now recorded two studio albums, 2007's 'Curses' and the forthcoming 'Travels with Myself and Another', and also a live album, 'Last Night I Saved Her from Vampires', which was released in February. They have become known for their frantic, angular guitar pop songs ; left wing politics and witty, caustic lyrics. They are also a live act of some force, their banterous sets having an explosive punk energy. These photographs were taken at a show at the Manchester Academy on the 23rd May on a recent tour by Neil Bailey exclusively for Pennyblackmusic.
