intro
Stunning feedback-dominated 7" debut single from the Boyfriends, whom include in their line-up two former members of Jack
This 7 inch is the debut single from the London based four piece the Boyfriends. Their line up includes guitarist Richard Adderley and drummer Paddy Pulzer, both of whom were in the original line up of Jack. Vocalist Martin Wallace is both upfront vocally but also sensitive at the same time. The music that backs ‘I Love You’, the A side, is pure wall-of-feedback noise. It is very much in the style of early Jesus and Mary Chain. While I love feedback and the JAMC, they did get very samey, but this has much more ideas in the mix. It is a great starting point.for the group. ‘Remember’, the B side, is perky, and has cutting guitar, bass and drums and a Talking Heads wacky rhythm in its beat. It is again sung with sensitivity, Absolutely smashing !
