'Trans Slovenia Express Volume 2' is a second volume of Kraftwerk covers from the Mute label. The original volume came out in 1994, and, like its predecessor, all the tracks here are unreleased. Laibach's 'Bruderschaft', while slightly more keyboard-based than usual, sounds exactly like what you would expect from Laibach, and is both very industrial and housey. Silence with Anne Clark's 'Hall of Mirrors' is again keyboard based and has a strong groove. Anne's vocals recall Sarah Nixey's from Black Box Recorder, and are very sexy in their quiet spoken word style. Silence's vocals in contrast sound like those of Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode. The track becomes increasingly more industrial as it progresses, but combines this with an Arabic Mission/David Bowie vibe. Siddharta's 'The Robots' is harder-edged and, while never losing its pop sensibilities, has a Gothic feel. The Stroj's 'Metal on Metal' is synthesiser based and sounds like the soundtrack to a 1970's thriller. Octex's 'Computer Love' has post rock vibes, while Torul's 'It's More Fun to Compute' is house and electronica-based. Rozmarinke are an all girl quartet and they are joined on their version of 'Radioactivity' by the vocalist from Silence. Moob's 'Telephone Call' has a post rock vibe, while Alenia's 'Home Computer' is a club anthem. Bast's 'Mitternacht' is moody and jarring while O.S.T's 'Metropolis', which again is keyboard based, sounds like the soundtrack to a John Carpenter film. Lara B's 'Hall of Mirrors'is a soft rock number, ideal for listeners who can't go to gigs anymore. Sequan's 'Metropolis; is a European dance pop number, which I Turk featuring Maya's 'Sex Object' is an over the top house track.
