intro
Debut UK CD from New York three piece We are Scientists, which comes across as a strong combination of the Chameleons and Interpol
New York three piece We are Scientists' debut UK single appears on both Cd and 7 inch red vinyl. The cover looks like it came from a James Bond poster. The main track has a perky bass line, which recalls Joy Division, while vocalist Keith Murray reminds me of a sped up Paul Banks from Interpol. The guitars meanwhile shimmer in a Chameleons fashion. The B side of the CD is 'Mucho Mas', and is once more a combination of the Chameleons and Interpol, but to me this is a much stronger song. 'History Repeats' the 7" B side, is guitar and bass heavy and is also better than the A side. It is very Interpol, very frantic, in your face, and again has a hint of Mark Burgess' lot.
