intro
Stunning new single from the Black Motorcycle Rebel Club, which proves to be one of the Singles of the Year and possibly every other year
Please don’t stop. Stop no way. ‘Stop’ is really just the start, the start of introducing us to the second Black Rebel Motorcycle Club album, ‘Take Them on Your Own’. ‘Stop’ is dirty and sweaty, and everything you love rock ‘n’ roll for. It starts with the dirtiest bass line ever. Wah wah guitar wobbles all over the place with a driving beat that is completely infectious from the off. This is the stuff that makes Singles of the Year. ‘Stop’ is easily one of the Top 5 records of this year, or any year. The first of the B sides is ‘High/Low’ which is full of echoey guitars, and, like a lot of BRMC stuff ,an up-date of the Jesus and Mary Chain. The second B side, ‘Take them on Your Own’ is distorted, edgy and beautiful with lots of feedbacking guitars. This is the most beautiful sound this side of the Velvet Underground.
