intro

Late 70's influenced classic punk rock from Portland, Oregon-based band which sounds almost better than the real thing

Here’s a record for anyone who misses bands like the Diodes and Generation X. The snotty yet desperate vocals, crunchy and jangly guitars (Rickenbacker, of course!) and spot-on production generate such a dead-on recreation of circa 1979 pop-punk that all imitation is forgiven: How can you criticize someone for sounding like someone else when they almost do it better? Ten songs zip by in under half an hour, each one a hooky gem — this is an entirely fat-free album. A must have for fans of bands like the New Town Animals, or illustrious predecessors like the Vapors and the Jam ...  It’s no understatement to say that if it had been released in the late 70s, people would be calling 'Guitar Romantic' a classic today.
