intro
I have always enjoyed the music of Tindersticks, and with the release of their new album 'Can Our Love'on Beggars' Banquet, it sees the band back on form after the disappointing 'A Simple Pleasure'. Blackheath Halls is a nice venue to see the band for me.
I have always enjoyed the music of Tindersticks, and with the release of their new album 'Can Our Love'on Beggars' Banquet, it sees the band back on form after the disappointing 'A Simple Pleasure'. Blackheath Halls is a nice venue to see the band for me. It is two roads down from where I live and it is local for singer and band leader Stuart Staples as well . Tonight the band covered a ninety minute set which included five songs from the new album and two new songs called 'Trouble Every Day' which is from aforthcoming film soundtrack and 'Say Goodbye To The City'. In between we got all the classics which we knew we would get, all soulful delivered in that moody Tindersticks style but not as black as on 'A Simple Pleasure'. Highlights of tonight's set included 'People Keep Comin" Around' which just grooved like a oncoming train or the best sex you could ever wish to have. With a band like Tindersticks full of beautiful strings, violins and moody organ why do they still remain underground ? It's a damn shame.
