Hello and welcome to the June edition of the Pennyblackmusic magazine. One of the questions that we are frequently asked at Pennyblackmusic is what type of person works for us. It is something that is very difficult to put into a slot. Our writers and photographers are of all ages, the youngest in their twenties, and the oldest in their seventies. We are also currently spread across seven countries - Scotland, England, Ireland, the USA, the Netherlands, Sweden and Spain. They have to be fanatical about music. That goes without saying. It is, however, a question that Cila Warncke has also been asking a lot in the last few months in her series ‘A Life in Music’, in which she speaks to a different Pennyblackmusic team member with each new edition about how music has affected and influenced them. Cila has so far talked to Nicky Crewe and Fiona Hutchings, and this month she speaks to our Irish writer Eoghan Lyng. ‘A Life in Music’ also shows that sometimes our writers and photographers have life stories just as fascinating and compelling as those in bands and groups. Thank you to Cila and Eoghan. Thank you also to Kimberly Bright, Steev Burgess, Malcolm Carter, Nicky Crewe, Julie Cruickshank, Nick Dent-Robinson, Anthony Dhanendran, Dave Goodwin, Zena Greig, Tommy Gunnarsson, Adrian Janes, Steve Kinrade, Richard Lewis, Eoghan Lyng, Steve Miles, Mark Rowland, Maarten Schiethart, Helen Tipping, Lisa Torem and Andrew Twambley, all of whom contributed to this edition. Special thanks to our webmaster Richard Banks, without whom none of this would be possible. Please check out our regular Facebook and Twitter links. Thank you as always for reading Pennyblackmusic, John Clarkson Magazine Editor www.pennyblackmusic.co.uk
