North Tyneside’s local heroes Hector Gannet have released a spellbinding four-song performance recorded live at Newcastle’s iconic Polestar Studios. The North Shields group released their stunning debut album 'Big Harcar' in October 2020 to great acclaim, but the thrilling quartet, whose concerts typically sell-out within days of tickets going on sale, have had to adapt to lockdown restrictions which have thwarted the band’s plans for a full album launch tour. Hector Gannet have already released a series of promotional videos accompanying the singles from the album, but this very special performance features four album highlights – Serpentine, 'The Whin Sill', 'In Fading Light' and the group’s totemic set-closer 'The Haven of St Aidan’s', expertly recorded by Chunny Parmar and Alex Blamire of Polestar Studios. Sublime camera-work captures all four band members, Aaron Duff (lead singer and guitarist, Martin Wann (guitar), Joe Coady (bass) and Jack Coe (drums) in full flight, giving the impression the viewer is right there with the band in the studio. Hector Gannet have been championed by BBC Radio 6Music’s Tom Robinson, amongst others. Photos by Leigh Anne Elliott
