intro
Over two galleries L. Paul Mann photographs Chris Cornell, the front man with Soundgarden, at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis at one of his last shows before his death on May 18th
On the 18th May Chris Cornell, the front man with Soundgarden, committed suicide in a hotel room following a Soundgarden concert there the night before. One of the leading acts in the grunge movement, Soundgarden had recorded six albums in a career that had expanded over thirty years. Cornell had also recorded three albums with "super group" Audioslave and four solo albums. On the 7th May Soundgarden as part of the same American tour closed the three day Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis. Our photographer and writer L. Paul Mann was at the Beale Street Music Festival. These two galleries show some of his photographs of Chris Cornell and Soundgarden from that show.
