Michi Wiancko's new EP finds her playing her violin in a slightly more aggressive fashion and adding touches of highland fiddling. The second track 'Sea Song' develops into an epic, and its stomping sound is also provided by Mike Sorenson Small of the Stone Ghost Collective and Grant Pringle of Dawn Of The Replicants. 'One More Day', the title track ,leans a little too much on esoterics while, pun intended, 'In a Lake' is far more down to earth. The chances are high she'll seduce you as she drags and slopes over the violin snares. There is also a video on-line to make sure you definitely will be. Meditative tension which comes first on 'When I Don't Come Back' proves misleading before the rocking out begins. 3,5/4 and Dawn French wouldn't be able to mock Kono Michi like she did with Bjørk. Dripping with talent, she really needs to get together with a producer like Kramer for an entire album.
