Blissful and feedback-driven latest single from New York shoegazing/psychedelic trio A Place to Bury Strangers, which has been released to coincide with their current UK tour
'Missing You' has been released to coincide with New York shoegazing/psychedelic trio A Place to Bury Strangers' current UK dates. 'Missing You' comes from the band's self-titled debut album, which has now been released twice on two different labels in two different countries. It is A Place to Bury Strangers' version of the finest moments from the Jesus and Mary Chain's 'Psychocandy'. It is beautiful and charming, with hushed vocals from singer Oliver Ackerman and walls of shimmering and feedback-infused guitars. It is totally blissful. 'Missing You' has been released on both CD and red vinyl 7 inch. The A side of the 7 inch vinyl version is 'Missing You (Demo)', which was recorded in Virginia between midnight and 4 a.m. at a studio that Oliver has used in the past. This version sounds very primitive and very dark, and the song works well in this raw form. 'To Fix the Gash in Your Head', another of the tracks from the album, appears on both versions of the single in two different remixes. The Peter Holmstrom version is so far removed from the original that it sounds like a new song. Oliver's vocal is more audible, but that is the only plus to this. Othwerwise it has been turned into a rather dire house number with touches of chill out to it. The Clapp are a two piece remix team, whom have done several remixes for A Place to Bury Strangers. This is in a different territory but more bearable. still having layers of feedback attached to it.
